Hi everyone! Like I said in my latest post on July’s favorites, one of the things I’ve been loving lately is to bake a yummy granola for breakfast.
I first saw the recipe on Lily Pebbles’s channel, she is an english youtuber and blogger (check out her blog here and videos here), and I decided to add some other ingredients to it. This recipe will give you a base to start from and you can then add whatever you like; when you make granola you don’t have to be as precise as when you bake a sponge cake! It is super quick and easy to make, it is delicious and with no nasty things added, so super healthy and good for you!
For the recipe you will need:
- 1 cup of almonds (non roasted but natural)
- 1/2 cup of pecan nuts
- 1 cup of jumbo oats
- 1 cup of spelt flakes
- some sunflower seeds
- 2 TBSP of coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of maple sirop
Step one: Mix the almonds and pecan nuts together to break them a little bit, leaving some crunchy pieces!Step 2: In a bowl, put your jumbo oats with the spelt flakes. Add your sunflower seeds and finally your grounded almonds and pecan nuts.
Step 3: In a little pan, put the coconut oil with the maple sirup on a low heat until it is all melted. (If you like you can add here some cinnamon too)
Step 4: Pour the coconut oil and maple sirup into your dry ingredients and mix everything together.
Step 5: Lay out the mixture onto a baking paper, then you can put it into the oven (preheated at 180°c) to cook for 15-18 minutes. The granola has to have a golden brown color. Don’t go away while it’s in the oven because it can burn easily especially at the end.
Step 6: Leave it to cool down and then put your granola into a jar and you are done! You can then add some dry fruits if you like (coconut, raisins, dry apricots, banana, mango, papaya…).
I usually have this granola with greek yogurt and fresh fruits or with almond milk! Mmmmmm so YUMMY!
Hope you enjoyed this quick, easy & healthy recipe!
