Usually we go in the south of France to my parents in law but this year we decided that we didn’t want to worry about what to eat, about cleaning or going to the supermarket. Things that I do all year around and that I was a bit tired off! So I needed a break! We heard about this beautiful hotel in Kos from friends that went there last year, called Blue Lagoon Village.
And indeed the hotel was absolutely lovely. Food was fine but in these « all inclusive » hotels you end up by eating the same things every day. I was disappointed by the hotel staff, they weren’t very nice and helpful, we only met two very kind waiters. Our bedroom was nice and big with a terrace, we had a lot of space and the kids had their own room. The hotel has 3 swimming pools and an adventure park at 10 minutes from the hotel. The staff can drive you there with a golf cart. My daughter had so much fun on the slides and me and hubby too 😉 we were feeling like children again!
We had booked for 14 days but end up by going home 3 days earlier because our little monster Noah was not well. We also realized that 10 days in a hotel is enough especially with a 7 months old baby. It was a bit complicated to prepare his food at lunch time and also he wasn’t sleeping in his stroller so I needed to go back in the room for him to have his nap. At the end of the holiday I wasn’t enjoying myself anymore!
One day we decided to rent a car to visit Kos and to bring back some « souvenirs » to our friends. That is where we had our fish pedicure! (pic on Instagram) It was a very weird sensation…I am not sure I will do it again 😉 We had a lunch in a typical restaurant far from all the tourists trap then we went to the market and back to the hotel! It was so hot that the kids weren’t feeling very good and also there is not much to see in Kos.
We had a nice holiday but we decided that bored of cooking and cleaning or not we will rent a house for next year as we realized it is the best solution when you have kids, especially young kids. You are more at ease and can enjoy more. I think it is less stressful as you don’t care about the baby crying or you don’t worry about preparing his food, you can read in the sun while the baby is sleeping etc. We will certainly go back in a hotel but when the kids will be older.
However I do recommend this hotel, it is beautiful and romantic if you go there as a couple and can be a lot of fun if you are with older children. Just pay attention that everything in the hotel is in english, so as the mini club. No one there speaks french or any other language. The travel agency didn’t tell us and it was a bit of a problem because Nahla doesn’t speak or understand english, so she couldn’t go to the mini club.
I hope you liked this post about our holidays. I would like to know what you are doing this summer and what kind of holidays you prefer? Don’t hesitate to leave me your comments down below!
